About
Hi! I’m Erin Coles — a fractional executive and operations leader who helps mission-driven organizations grow with clarity, compassion, and purpose.
I currently serve as Head of Operations at birthFUND, founded by journalist, author, and host Elaine Welteroth, and as Executive Director at the Million Dollar Women Fund, founded by entrepreneur and business coach Julia Pimsleur. In both roles, I work closely with visionary founders to shape strategy, lead lean, high-performing teams, and build the systems that allow meaningful work to truly thrive. My approach is entrepreneurial, collaborative, and deeply hands-on — because in small, fast-moving teams, I believe everyone rolls up their sleeves (myself included 🙂).
I’m especially passionate about two areas that feel close to my heart: advancing female entrepreneurship and improving maternal health. As an entrepreneur for 15+ years, I know firsthand the emotional, financial, and logistical realities of building something from the ground up — and I care deeply about ensuring women founders get the support they deserve. I also bring lived experience to my work in maternal health, having navigated pregnancy and early parenthood while juggling limited resources and a complicated health journey. Earlier in my life, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition that shifted my perspective entirely — teaching me gratitude, resilience, and empathy that I carry into every space I lead.
A little more about me
My background spans music, entertainment, weddings, digital marketing, nonprofit leadership, and beauty — and throughout my career, I’ve been known for building strong partnerships, nurturing thoughtful teams, and quietly making things work behind the scenes. I also love speaking about leadership, entrepreneurship, and purpose-driven work, and have partnered with brands and communities including MAC, Nuna, Pure Mama, Million Dollar Women, and Argent.
Outside of work, I’m a proud mom of two and live in the beautiful Hudson Valley after 12 wonderful years in NYC. I love running along the river, baking something cozy in the kitchen, and staying connected to my roots in music and performance — from years of figure skating to performing in musicals to leading a wedding band business for over a decade. I guess you could say I’ve always been a joyful “plate-filler” — and I wouldn’t have it any other way 🙂
At the heart of everything I do is a simple goal: to help build a world that’s just a little kinder, more supportive, and more equitable — especially for women, mothers, and families. If you’re building toward that future too, I’m so glad we’ve found each other 💛
